Continuing to look at the importance of fitness footwear for pre-season, we take a look at Adidas’ latest running innovation the Boost. The boost boasts a revolutionary design in energy return – which is delivered through the shoe’s cushioning system, helping you run for longer with less effort!

Featuring a brand new form of foam – the Boost caused quite an upset when it hit the scene, dividing the running community. The sole is basically an expanded foam – which has thousands of tiny balls of foam marbled throughout it, giving the highest energy return of any running shoe; fantastic for long running sessions around the pitch in hot conditions.

adidas is committed to creating innovative products that make athletes better. With BOOST™ we have created a cushioning revolution that provides the highest energy return in the industry

– Eric Liedtke, Head of Sport Performance

The high energy return sole is reported to be a responsive ride, meaning it will be harder than some running shoes under foot – but this is part of the Boost experience. The sole is also three times as resistant to natural temperatures as normal running shoes’ cushioning – great for hot training sessions in the blazing sun.

The innovation goes beyond the revolutionary midsole technology. The upper on the Energy Boost features adidas Techfit technology with highly durable and elastic polyurethane, which provides optimal comfort and support to the entire foot while in motion. A stretch, breathable mesh material offers the fit of a sock while engineered powerbands across the upper provide targeted support and stabilise the foot where needed when moving.
