For over 20 years, Tiempo has been synonymous with premium leather football boots. The new Tiempo Legend 6 builds upon that legacy with innovative craftsmanship for dominant touch. “Tiempo players start the attack,” says Nike Football Designer Vianney de Montgolfier. “We prioritize the touch and precision they depend on. With Tiempo Legend 6, we challenged ourselves to work with legendary materials in a new way.”
Inspired by Cristiano Ronaldo’s latest scoring achievements, the new Mercurial Superfly CR7 324K Gold and Mercurial Superfly CR7 Quinhentos celebrate the player’s phenomenal finishing skills. The colorways take cues from two of Ronaldo’s favorite Mercurial Vapor 3 designs.
NikeFootballX releases new seasonal colorways of the MagistaX, MercurialX and HypervenomX in both indoor court (IC) and turf (TF) versions that anticipate the surfaces and dynamic underfoot-play intrinsic to small-sided football. Notably, the boots feature recycled Nike Grind rubber on high-abrasion, drag areas to enhance durability on hard surfaces.
Nike Football is known for revolutionising the game through innovations like Nike Flyknit and Dynamic Fit collars. But Nike’s design team grew up wearing the era’s leather boots and retains high regard for the material, as well as the soft touch associated with it. Collectively, the team began exploring the potential of fusing leather to Nike’s iconic football silhouettes in 2014. Their thinking quickly evolved into experimentation and, ultimately, a premium collection of hybrid leather boots: Nike Tech Craft.
Nike Tech Craft strategically places a thin layer of leather in high ball-contact areas (the medial and lateral sides of the forefoot) on each of Nike’s four football boot styles — Hypervenom, Magista, Mercurial and Tiempo. Each boot remains true to its original aesthetic and performance attributes, but with the soft touch and classic appeal of leather.
Manchester City’s new away kit honors its passionate legion of fans, who proudly sing the club’s celestial-inspired anthem, with a lunar print on both sleeves.
The moon graphic, which appears in tonal blue hues, combines with the shirt’s navy blue body, subtly contrasting sleeves and shoulders, and electric blue detailing — a modern take on Manchester City’s iconic sky blue.
As football players worldwide return to their clubs to prepare for the upcoming season, Nike releases the new Lightning Storm Pack. The bold boot collection, which will be seen on professionals starting July 23, features the new Hypervenom II, the Mercurial Superfly and Vapor, the Magista Obra and Opus, and the Tiempo V in an assortment of bright colors.
The Nike Lightning Storm Pack Mercurial debuts an all Hyper Pink upper with a black outline Swoosh.
New Balance Football has officially revealed the brand’s first range of football boots. New Balance has launched two styles of boots; both designed for attack- minded players, but differentiated by style-of-play – a player’s philosophy. The Visaro boot is for players who ‘Make Chances’ and the Furon boot for players who ‘Take Chances’; it’s not position-specific, its outlook-specific.
HYPERVENOM II: DECEPTIVE BY NATURE
In 2013, Nike launched Hypervenom, a new line of boots for a new breed of attacker. Players everywhere, from Neymar Jr. to Wayne Rooney, immediately took to the pitch with great success in the new boots. Meanwhile, Nike’s design team never stopped working on what they could possibly do to make the next Hypervenom boots even better.
“Much like the players we design for, we’re constantly pushing the parameters of what’s possible. We are relentless innovators.” – Nathan VanHook, Senior Design Director for Nike Football Footwear
